Enjoying nature tourism in Kyoto

Enjoying nature tourism in Kyoto

Get off at the Kyoto Bus stop Otagi-dera-mae and head toward the area shown in the photo.

As shown in the photo, head toward the mountain path.

You will find the tomb of a 1,175-year-old Empress here.

This is the end of the ascent... the view opens up.

From here, if you take a detour from the main path and walk along the river on the right side, you will reach Kiyotaki. The elevation change is minimal, and you will continue walking along a clear stream. You will arrive shortly. From there, take the bus to Arashiyama. The next bus stop after the one you got off at on the way here is this one.

Apologies for the mix-up! Here’s the corrected version with "left" instead of "right":

"If you look to your left, you will see the abandoned Ayu tea house, which was in operation about 100 years ago."

    Continue walking along the ravine.

Along the way, you will come across the Torokko Saga Station. It has a nostalgic atmosphere.

Before long, you'll reach JR Hozukyo Station. From here, you can return to Saga Arashiyama.
